Softball Recap: Enumclaw Hornets vs. Fife Trojans

After flying high against Washington last Tuesday, Enumclaw came back down to earth. The Enumclaw Hornets fell just short of the Fife Trojans by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. Enumclaw was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fife apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

For Fife's part, Madi Walls was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Walls was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paige Vanmeter, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

Enumclaw's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Fife, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
