Basketball Game Preview: Laguna Creek Cardinals vs. Pleasant Grove Eagles

The Laguna Creek Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Pleasant Grove Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Laguna Creek and five for Pleasant Grove.

On Monday, Laguna Creek came up short against Edison and fell 58-51. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 572nd, while the Vikings are ranked 225th).

Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove lost to Elk Grove on the road by a 68-51 margin on Friday. The Eagles were down 51-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Laguna Creek's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Laguna Creek beat Pleasant Grove 61-50 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Does Laguna Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pleasant Grove turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
