Football Game Preview: Muenster Hornets vs. Lindsay Knights

Muenster is 9-1 against Lindsay since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Muenster took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They blew past De Leon 47-16. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-8.

Casen Carney produced another solid performance throwing for 204 yards and four TDs while completing 88.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 145 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. What's more, he racked up 165.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nolan Peel, who rushed for 61 yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Muenster was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 384 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Lindsay over Dublin in every quarter on their way to victory last Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Knights blew the Lions out of the water with a 70-7 final score. The victory was just business as usual for the Knights, who after five games remain undefeated this season.

Muenster now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lindsay, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Everything came up roses for Muenster against Lindsay in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 44-0 victory. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
