Basketball Recap: Heritage Academy Makes It Nine in a Row on the Road

Heritage Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with a 55-42 win over Mount Airy Christian Academy. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Mount Airy Christian Academy are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mount Airy Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joey Stanton, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals Stanton has posted since back in January of 2024. Elijah Brewer was another key player, putting up 16 points.
