Girls McDonald's All-American Game rosters announced

Nation's No. 1 senior recruit Haley Jones will go against her own Archbishop Mitty coach in the 18th McDonald's All-American Game.

Twenty-four of the top 37 rated senior basketball players in the country will converge in Atlanta on March 27 to partake in the 18th McDonald's All-American Game.

All 24 players have already either signed or committed to college, including three each to Stanford and South Carolina. Notre Dame, Florida State, Maryland and UCLA are other colleges claiming two McDonald's All-Americans.

Only one of the players — Ossining (N.Y.) wing Aubrey Griffin — has signed to Connecticut, which normally garners multiple All-Americans.

Three players each headed to South Carolina and Florida State will play for the East and three players bound for Stanford — led by the nation's top-rated player Haley Jones — will play for the West. Interestingly, her high school coach Sue Phillips, of Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.), is coaching the East.

Last year, MaxPreps 2018 Player of the Year Christyn Williams led the West to an 82-79 victory.

According to ESPN 2019 recruiting rankings, the East boasts five of the top 10 players in the county, while the West has three. Adding all the recruiting rankings together, the East roster equals 186 and the West 190.

States represented by players: Ohio 4, California 3, Texas 3, Colorado 2, Illinois 2, New York 2, Virginia 2 and Alabama, Kansas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan and New Jersey, with 1 each.

The West features Regis Jesuit (Colo.) forward Francesca Belibi, who is a regular on Top Plays of the Week for her high-flying dunks. She most assuredly will enter the festivities' dunk contest.
