Basketball Recap: Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] Takes a Loss

Despite the defeat, Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Olivia Wall went 6 for 15 on her way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wall has scored all season. Shelby Jurjens was another key player, putting up four points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Mallory Springer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds for Cambridge. Springer has become a key player for Cambridge: the team is 10-5 when she posts at least eight boards, but 0-4 otherwise. Regina Pena also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Cambridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Coming up, Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] will head out to challenge Elm Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elm Creek will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cambridge, they have already played their next match, a 41-34 victory against St. Patrick's on the 8th.
