Baseball Recap: Linden Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Linden's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They didn't even let the Calaveras Red Hawks on the board, marking the Lions' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Red Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Justin Sales tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Linden let Brody Black and Cody Cox run wild. Black scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Cox scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Cox a new career-high. Nikko Vigna was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Linden's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Calaveras, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-12 record.

Linden has already played their next matchup, a 9-3 victory against Sierra on the 9th. Hopefully Calaveras payed attention to the Lions' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
