Huntington is 9-1 against Capital since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Highlanders will take on the Cougars at 1:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Huntington and ten for Capital.

On Tuesday, Huntington came up short against Tug Valley and fell 10-7.

Layla Crickard put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Crickard was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Aubrey Thomas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Ellie Fei was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Capital lost 10-2 to South Charleston on Tuesday.

Jadan Bishop was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kathryn Crowder, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Huntington's record now sits at 3-19. As for Capital, their record is now 3-20.

Huntington beat Capital 6-3 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Highlanders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
