Preview: Montgomery Catholic Knights vs. Cherokee County Warriors
Two dominant backs in Josh Griffin and Jacob Cornejo are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Montgomery Catholic Knights are on the road again on Friday and play against the Cherokee County Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Montgomery Catholic rose to the challenge on Friday. They didn't even let the Golden Eagles onto the board and left with a 28-0 win.
Griffin and Caleb Mccreary were among the main playmakers for Montgomery Catholic as the former rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns and the latter rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns. Mccreary is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Cherokee County entered their tilt with Westminster Christian Academy with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Cherokee County blew past Westminster Christian Academy, posting a 50-6 victory on the road.
Cornejo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 144 yards. Cornejo hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games.
Their wins bumped Montgomery Catholic to 14-0 and Booker T. Washington to 9-5.
