Football Recap: North Union Wildcats vs. Liberty Union Lions
North Union might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Liberty Union who claimed the real prize. The North Union Wildcats fell to the Liberty Union Lions 39-34.
North Union lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Wyatt Arver, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Arver got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible61 yards.
Even though they lost, North Union was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.
North Union's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Liberty Union, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-1.
