Basketball Preview: Arapahoe Warriors vs. Southern Valley Eagles
Arapahoe hasn't had much luck against Southern Valley recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Arapahoe Warriors just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Southern Valley Eagles at 2:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Arapahoe is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Medicine Valley 71-30 on Friday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Raiders are ranked 249th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arapahoe found their leader in freshman Suttyn Shafer, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shafer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Hilker, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 11 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Southern Valley waltzed into their game on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 57-24 victory over the Vikings.
Southern Valley pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.5 points per game. As for Arapahoe, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
