Baseball Recap: Tarpon Springs Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lakewood on Tuesday, Tarpon Springs came back down to earth. The Spongers lost 11-2 to the Seminole Seminoles on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spongers of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Tarpon Springs saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Rogers, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Tarpon Springs' loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Seminole, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Tarpon Springs will take on Hudson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Spongers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cobras have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Seminole, they will square off against Booker at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
