Basketball Recap: West Mecklenburg Takes a Loss

West Mecklenburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 47-16 loss at the hands of the Chambers Cougars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-26 back in December of 2024.

West Mecklenburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Chambers, they moved to 4-12 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

West Mecklenburg and Chambers could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. West Mecklenburg will take on West Charlotte at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday down 388 places (493 vs. 105). Similarly, Chambers (ranked 358th) will meet Hough (ranked 97th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
