Baseball Recap: Classical Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Classical Academy extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 10-6. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Santa Fe Christian Eagles. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Classical Academy got a great performance from Quaid O'Carroll as he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. O'Carroll has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Travis Perry was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Landon Falk was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

As for Santa Fe Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Santa Fe Christian's side, Owen Mauser was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Santa Fe Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Moran, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Classical Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
