Basketball Recap: Ashley Falls Despite Big Games from Jaeden Hudson and Ella Rose

Ashley lost against New Hanover back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Ashley Screaming Eagle took a 44-29 bruising from the New Hanover Wildcats.

Despite the loss, Ashley had strong showings from Ella Rose, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points, and Jaeden Hudson, who posted seven points along with eight boards and five steals. That's the most boards Hudson has posted since back in November of 2023.

New Hanover got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maleah Moses Braxton out in front who had ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Stanley, who put up nine points.

Ashley now has a losing record at 7-8. As for New Hanover, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Ashley will head out on the road to face off against Laney at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for New Hanover, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the New Hanover Wildcats face off against the South Brunswick Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
