Baseball Game Preview: Central Eagles vs. Buford Yellow Jackets

For the second straight game, Central will face off against Buford. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Central will bounce into Wednesday's match after beating Buford, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 7-1 victory on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cody Branham made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Logan Olney was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Buford is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-9. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.
