Baseball Recap: Spanish Fork Comes Up Short

Spanish Fork couldn't beat Timpview on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Dons fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 7-6. The Dons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Spanish Fork got a good showing from Jesse Harrison, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Harrison hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Boston Duvall was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Nixon Warren, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Spanish Fork has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Timpview, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-15.

While Spanish Fork had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
