Basketball Recap: Arcadia Extends Winning Streak to Three

Arcadia had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Mary's Knights, sneaking past 55-53. The win was all the more spectacular given the Titans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Knights are ranked 33rd).

Arcadia is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for St. Mary's, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcadia will venture away from home to challenge Cortez at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cortez will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Arcadia surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Mary's, they will take on Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mesquite has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 204 points over their last three games.
