Volleyball Recap: South St. Paul's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

South St. Paul entered their tilt with Roosevelt on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Teddies. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Packers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was South St. Paul who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-13.

Aviana Belmares paced South St. Paul's offense, picking up 17 kills. Belmares got some help from Hayden Mikkelson and her 36 assists. Abby Ulrick controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

South St. Paul's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Roosevelt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3-1.

Coming up, South St. Paul will square off against Two Rivers at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Packers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Roosevelt, they are taking a road trip to take on Como Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
