Soccer Game Preview: Lake Region vs. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy

The Lake Region Thunder will head out to square off against the Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Region's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lake Region's offense. They lost 8-0 to Santa Fe Catholic on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 470th, while the Hawks are ranked 79th).

Meanwhile, Ridgeview Global Studies Academy hadn't done well against Ridge Community recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy's defense stepped up to hand Ridge Community a 1-0 shutout. The Explorers wouldn't have won without Madison Farrelly, who scored the game-winner.

Ridgeview Global Studies Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2-2. As for Lake Region, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Lake Region might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Ridgeview Global Studies Academy in their previous meeting back in November. Can Lake Region avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
