Baseball Recap: Langley Comes Up Short

Langley came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Herndon Hornets, falling 9-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Saxons in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

Langley's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Herndon, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season.

Langley will host Edison at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Saxons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Herndon, they are taking a road trip to square off against Yorktown at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
