Basketball Preview: Red Cloud Warriors vs. Rock Hills Grizzlies
Two dominant guards in Gage Ely and Cooper McDill are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Red Cloud Warriors will take on the Rock Hills Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Cloud will be strutting in after a win while Rock Hills will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Red Cloud beat Hershey 46-42.

Ely was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. Those 13 boards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Bolin, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Rock Hills came up short against Logan/Palco two weeks ago and fell 59-49. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Logan/Palco are ranked 11th).
Rock Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Red Cloud, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Red Cloud took their victory against Rock Hills in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 48-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Red Cloud since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
