This week's list of national football stat stars features a national record, a running back duel in Southern California and a big passing effort by the nephew of a former Heisman Trophy winner.

Kraig Pruett of Waldport set the national record when he had 456 receiving yards in a 48-0 win over Culver. His single-game total tops the record of 437 yards set by Gehrig Dieter of Washington (South Bend, Ind.) in 2011.

Meanwhile Jacob Taylor of Rim of the World and Sty Hairston of Banning combined for 750 yards rushing in a 49-41 Banning victory. Taylor rushed for 389 yards and five touchdowns while Hairston had 361 yards and seven touchdowns.

Then there's Troy Flutie, son of Darren Flutie and nephew of Boston College Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie. Troy Flutie threw for 426 yards and four touchdowns in a 40-34 loss to Wellesley. The yardage total was a personal best for Flutie, a junior, who went over 2,000 yards for the second straight season.

Another player to watch is Jordan Fraga of Devine, who rushed for 454 yards and eight touchdowns in a 61-29 win over Carrizo Springs. Fraga upped his season total to 2,395 yards with 32 touchdowns with one game left in the regular season. Last year, Devine led the nation in team rushing with over 6,000 yards. Fraga had 1,070 yards last season while teammate Joseph Sadler had 3,887, which ranked third in the nation.

Stat stars are based on statistics provided by coaches to MaxPreps.
