Basketball Recap: Princess Anne Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Kellam

Princess Anne won the last time they faced Kellam and things went their way on Friday too. The Princess Anne Cavaliers came out on top against the Kellam Knights by a score of 66-58. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cavaliers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Knights are ranked 20th).

Princess Anne is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.6 points per game. As for Kellam, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-1.

The future could be bright for both Princess Anne and Kellam: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Princess Anne will try to hand Deep Creek their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Kellam will try to hand Bayside their third-straight loss when the two meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
