Stone Memorial hadn't done well against Upperman recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bees 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Bees on Monday, they had to take a 6-5 defeat.

Memphis Barnes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

On the hitting side, Stone Memorial's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cade Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Stone Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Upperman, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-11.

Looking ahead, Stone Memorial will venture away from home to challenge Meigs County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Upperman, they will welcome Coffee County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bees' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
