Basketball Recap: John Hay's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

John Hay can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They managed a 62-57 win over the Shaw Cardinals. For John Hay, this counts as revenge for the 64-53 victory Shaw walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2022.

John Hay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taevon Walker, who posted 19 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was A'Chauntez Glenn, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

John Hay's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Shaw, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

John Hay will head out to face off against Bard Early College at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shaw, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Garfield Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
