Volleyball Recap: Delavan-Darien Gets the Win

Delavan-Darien won the last time they faced Wilmot and things went their way on Saturday too. The Comets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Comets.

Delavan-Darien had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Morgan Weiss paced Delavan-Darien's offense, picking up eight kills. Weiss got some help from Janelle Damrow and her 12 assists. Damrow was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Delavan-Darien's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Wilmot, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delavan-Darien will host Monroe at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilmot, they will be playing at home against Waterford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
