Basketball Game Preview: South Hills Scorpions vs. Polytechnic Parrots

The South Hills Scorpions will head out on the road to square off against the Polytechnic Parrots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 76-44, which was the final score in South Hills' tilt against Paschal on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1177th, while the Panthers are ranked 203rd).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-38, which was the final score in Polytechnic's tilt against Paschal on Saturday. The Parrots haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

South Hills' loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Polytechnic, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Everything went South Hills' way against Polytechnic in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as South Hills made off with a 54-29 victory. Will South Hills repeat their success, or does Polytechnic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
