Soccer Game Preview: Fort Dorchester vs. Ashley Ridge

Fort Dorchester hasn't had much luck against Ashley Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fort Dorchester Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fort Dorchester's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over West Ashley.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ashley Ridge). They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Stall on Tuesday. Given the Swamp Foxes' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Warriors are ranked 88th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elijah Dunkerley and Beckham Harris scored all four of Ashley Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Fort Dorchester picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-3. As for Ashley Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Fort Dorchester suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Ashley Ridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Fort Dorchester avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
