Basketball Recap: Mesa Vista Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Mesa Vista had won three straight home games and Tana Lopez did her part to make it four on Saturday. The Mesa Vista Trojans took down the Los Alamos Hilltoppers 59-41 thanks in part to Lopez, who went 10 for 20 en route to 28 points and four steals. Those 28 points gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Boies, who posted two points in addition to five boards and three steals. Boies is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Los Alamos lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sofia Trujillo, who earned 11 points. Another player making a difference was Jenae Velarde, who put up eight points.

Mesa Vista's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Los Alamos, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Mesa Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-29 victory against McCurdy on the 23rd. As for Los Alamos, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-44 win against Escalante on the 21st.
