Basketball Game Preview: Pittsburg Panthers vs. Littleton Crusaders

Pittsburg hasn't had much luck against Littleton recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pittsburg Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Littleton Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Pittsburg is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-55 heartbreaker at the hands of Gorham.

Meanwhile, Littleton came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Mohawks 64-50. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Mohawks are ranked 61st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Littleton pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for Pittsburg, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Things could have been worse for Pittsburg, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-42 loss to Littleton in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Can Pittsburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
