Basketball Game Preview: Zavalla Eagles vs. Martinsville Pirates

The Zavalla Eagles will take on the Martinsville Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Zavalla is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Broaddus just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a blow against the Bulldogs, falling 51-21. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 902nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 132nd).

Meanwhile, Martinsville was able to grind out a solid victory over Wells on Friday, taking the game 49-37.

Martinsville's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-10. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 45.8 points. As for Zavalla, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11.
