Softball Recap: Holy Cross Has No Trouble Against Pennsauken

Holy Cross won the last time they faced Pennsauken and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lancers put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 8-1 win.

Jamie Dunn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Holy Cross let Alana McCormick and Jayla Bullock run wild. McCormick went 2-for-4 with four runs, while Bullock went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those four runs gave McCormick a new career-high.

Holy Cross now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Pennsauken, their record is now 2-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will challenge Burlington Township at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Pennsauken, they will square off against Northern Burlington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
