Baseball Game Preview: Valencia Tigers vs. Garden Grove Argonauts

Valencia is 0-3 against Garden Grove since February of 2024 but things could change on Friday. The Tigers will square off against the Argonauts at 3:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Valencia faced off against Westminster on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lions a 4-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Garden Grove hadn't done well against Estancia recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Argonauts walked away with a 4-1 win over the Eagles.

Garden Grove is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games. As for Valencia, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
