Softball Recap: Jay Mustangs vs. Harlandale Indians

Jay started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Harlandale. They fell just short of the Harlandale Indians by a score of 14-13 on Wednesday. Even if the Mustangs couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jay got a big performance out of Audrey Rosas, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Erises Tarin, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Jay's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Harlandale, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jay will host Winn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jay is facing Winn at the right time seeing as Winn is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Harlandale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southside at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harlandale has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
