Baseball Game Preview: Shawano Community Hawks vs. Menasha Bluejays

Shawano Community is 2-8 against Menasha since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hawks will square off against the Bluejays at 4:30 p.m. Shawano Community is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Hawks on Monday. Shawano Community came out on top against Xavier by a score of 9-6. Shawano Community hasn't had any issues with Xavier recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Ayden Bystol made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Bystol was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Pete Bruette, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Shawano Community is undefeated when Bruette posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jerzy Brocker, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Menasha lost 15-2 to Seymour on Thursday. The Bluejays have struggled against the Thunder recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Shawano Community's record now sits at 6-4. As for Menasha, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Shawano Community came up short against Menasha when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 8-3. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
