Basketball Recap: Middle Creek Wins Going Away Against Riverside-Durham

Middle Creek's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 58-35 margin over the Riverside-Durham Pirates. That looming 58-35 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Alysia Pergerson was her usual excellent self, putting up 20 points. Amy Smith was another key player, posting 12 points.

Riverside-Durham's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Beck Arrendondo, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Esme Calkins, who put up eight points.

With the victory, Middle Creek broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. As for Riverside-Durham, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Middle Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-48 win against Nash Central on the 28th. Riverside-Durham has also already played their next matchup, a 41-37 loss against West Johnston on the 28th.
