Basketball Recap: McMinn County Takes a Loss

McMinn County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 57-31 to the Rhea County Golden Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Cherokees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 91st).

McMinn County's loss dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Rhea County, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

McMinn County has already played their next game (against Alcoa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Rhea County, they will face off against Cleveland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cleveland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season.
