Basketball Recap: Brooks Debartolo Collegiate Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate won the last time they faced Northside Christian and things went their way on Thursday too. The Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Phoenix came out on top against the Northside Christian Mustangs by a score of 57-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Phoenix.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate had a senior duo take command as EMANI BROWN almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards and SIMEON JORDEN made all 6 shots he took for 14 points along with seven boards and five steals. Those five steals gave JORDEN a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JOSHUA EDWARDS, who posted eight points.

Despite the defeat, Northside Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Elijah Ahlers had 26 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The game was Ahlers' 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacai Lofton, who put up four points and four steals.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Northside Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate will welcome Boca Ciega at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
