Baseball Recap: Lemon Bay Comes Up Short

Lemon Bay and Island Coast squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lemon Bay had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Gators by a score of 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Manta Rays in their meetings with the Gators: they've now lost six in a row.

Alexis Periera was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits.

At the plate, Lemon Bay saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wilson Shaw, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Lemon Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Island Coast, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

As of now, neither Lemon Bay nor the Gators have any future games scheduled.
