Softball Recap: Valley Has No Trouble Against Forest Hills

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Valley and Forest Hills meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Cavaliers were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the Tigers. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Forest Hills, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley will host North Yarmouth Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cavaliers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Forest Hills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wiscasset at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.46 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
