Football Game Preview: Waurika Eagles vs. Empire Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Waurika Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Empire Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waurika has given up an average of 26.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Waurika is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Hollis just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 62-20 loss at the hands of the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Tigers are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Empire never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed past Central to the tune of 53-0. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

Empire pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.0 points on average over those games. As for Waurika, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Waurika was taken down by Empire 38-6 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
