Basketball Game Preview: Jackson County Panthers vs. Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes

The Jackson County Panthers and the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-19, which was the final score in Jackson County's tilt against Oconee County on Saturday. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Monroe Area didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Walnut Grove on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 45-39 win.

The victory got Monroe Area back to even at 5-5. As for Jackson County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Jackson County came up short against Monroe Area in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 57-51. Can Jackson County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
