Nixon won the last time they faced Roma and things went their way on Tuesday too. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Mustangs who were credited with the victory. The Nixon Mustangs got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Roma Gladiators' three. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Nixon's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Roma are ranked 619th).

Nixon's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five contests. As for Roma, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Nixon is set to challenge their familiar foe Palmview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Roma will square off against rival Juarez-Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
