Game recap

Avon (Ohio) snapped Midview (Grafton, Ohio)'s 6-game winning streak, with a 28-0 victory on Saturday.

The Eagles were up 16-0 at the half after taking the lead on a field goal in the second quarter.

Avon expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. AHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Ross Douglas touchdown run.

A 16-point second quarter helped the Eagles secure the big victory. Avon scored on a touchdown run by Douglas and a passing touchdown in the quarter.

Douglas was the top performer for AHS. The senior ran for three touchdowns.

The Eagles had given up an average of 13.3 points prior to the contest. The zero points that the Middies ended with were well below their average of 31.7 coming into the game.

When the two teams played each other last season, Avon came away with a 14-10 victory.

The defeat comes as a step back for Midview, which notched a 8-0 victory over North Ridgeville in its previous outing.

Midview (6-1) goes up against Lakewood in a West Shore game matchup next week, while Avon (6-1) locks horns with Vermilion also in a West Shore game.
