Basketball Recap: North Broward Prep Skates Past Winthrop College Prep Academy with Ease

North Broward Prep posted their biggest victory since February 5th on Friday. They blew past the Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans 60-18. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Spartans are ranked 444th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Broward Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexa Schwartz out in front who went 5 for 6 on her way to 15 points and seven steals. Schwartz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydie Sturm, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 16 points.

North Broward Prep now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

North Broward Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against George Jenkins at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. George Jenkins is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Boynton Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Boynton Beach will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Winthrop College Prep Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
