Whetstone waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They snuck past the Franklin Heights Falcons with a 57-52 win. This was payback for the Braves, who suffered a 39-32 loss the last time these two teams met.

Caniya Woods was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 17 boards. Another player making a difference was Catherine Pierce, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.

The victory got Whetstone back to even at 3-3. As for Franklin Heights, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Whetstone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-25 win against Beechcroft on the 13th. As for Franklin Heights, they will venture away from home to face off against Bexley at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Franklin Heights is facing Bexley at the right time seeing as Bexley is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
