Basketball Recap: Ventura Comes Up Short

Ventura lost to Rio Mesa back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cougars fell 63-57 to the Spartans. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ventura's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Rio Mesa, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ventura will take on rival Santa Barbara at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Rio Mesa is set to challenge their familiar foe Oxnard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
