Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Caitlin Hurley and Reagan Burgle Lead Salpointe Catholic to Victory

Salpointe Catholic won the last time they faced Ironwood Ridge and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lancers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Nighthawks. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Salpointe Catholic was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-9, 24-26, 25-17.

Leading Salpointe Catholic to victory were Reagan Burgle and Caitlin Hurley. Burgle had 21 digs and two aces, while Hurley had four digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Hurley a new career-high in assists (22).

They weren't the only good servers: Salpointe Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.

Salpointe Catholic's record now sits at 19-4. As for Ironwood Ridge, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 13-11 record.

Looking ahead, Salpointe Catholic is taking a road trip to challenge Walden Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ironwood Ridge, they will take on San Marcos in a tournament on Friday.
