Augusta was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 25-22.
The losing side was boosted by Brooklyn Krueger, who had five digs and three aces.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Hornets on Tuesday. Cadott walked away with a 3-1 win over Colby. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cadott.
Cadott had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-13.
Augusta's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Cadott, their victory bumped their record up to 24-10.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Augusta has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Cadott struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Augusta came up short against Cadott when the teams last played back in August of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Beavers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
